This is How We Do War
Written, filmed and edited in 48 hours as part of the Aravali Film Festival.
Ever since my dad introduced me to Tarantino films at a young age (some would say too young, a statement I strongly disagree with), I’ve developed a fascination with writing dialogue that seems to say nothing yet remains so gripping that you can’t look away. That was a major inspiration behind this film, alongside my love for a good twist ending.
To no surprise to those who know me, the two questions posed in the film “Can you make a ready-to-drink Coke float in a can?” and “Is there a way to execute someone with no one to blame?” were actually questions I threw at my friend one morning around 8am over coffee. We never came up with answers, so I thought, "Why not include them in a script?"
We were fortunate to have an incredible team who brought this production to life, even when I, as a typical creative, insisted on shooting in a room with changing light, loud trains that interrupted almost every take, and a lot of echo (sorry, Ed and Ollie). The crew embraced every challenge I threw at them, including new shots when we were already up against a tight schedule (so worth it though).
I’m incredibly proud of our team and this film so hope you enjoy it too.
